Here’s what Eagles’ Nick Sirianni had to say about the approaching trade deadline

The NFL trade deadline is almost a week away (Nov. 5), and teams like the Eagles are assessing their rosters to determine which positions and players they could target while weighing the assets needed to make a deal, such as draft picks. With the Eagles holding a 5-2 record and contending for the top spot in the NFC East and the conference, general manager Howie Roseman could face a tough decision.
When asked about the upcoming trade deadline, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in the current roster but emphasized his trust in Roseman if a trade were made.
“I love the team that we have, and I think this team is really coming together,” Sirianni said. “With that being said, we’re always looking for ways to improve our team, and I know Howie’s the best at that, always looking for ways to improve the football team. I admire and value that, but like I said, I love the guys that we have. I think we’re coming together really nicely as a team, but we’ll see how this next week plays out.”
Since 2022, the Eagles have made three trades before the deadline, most recently acquiring safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans and trading defensive tackle Kentavius Street to the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. In 2022, they added defensive end Robert Quinn.

The Eagles are playing their best football of the season, coming off Sunday’s 20-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals, marking their third victory in a row. When examining the team’s needs, the only position that might be addressed is edge rusher. Defensive ends Bryce Huff, Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, and linebacker Nolan Smith are generating more pressure, but they have combined for only eight sacks through seven games.
According to Over The Cap, the Eagles have $10.1 million in cap space available. Roseman can free up more room by restructuring contracts, giving the team some flexibility. However, there aren’t many marquee edge rushers available. Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett and Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby are expected to stay with their teams, so a role player or situational pass rusher could be a more realistic target.
There has also been speculation about the Eagles pursuing a third wide receiver, but given their current personnel and the usage of the third receiver, it seems unlikely there will be a significant move at that spot. Before the season, the Eagles traded a 2025 third-round pick to acquire Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders. Dotson has only been targeted 13 times, catching six passes for 35 yards.
The Eagles could also consider defensive back James Bradberry as a trade deadline addition once he returns from the knee injury that placed him on injured reserve to start the season. Bradberry could step in if a significant injury affects the secondary, providing depth at both cornerback and safety and serving as a veteran mentor to younger defensive backs.
